    Privacy Policy

    Last updated October 31, 2026

TripTraverse helps you keep every part of a trip in one place. Doing that means handling information about where you're going, where you're staying and how you're getting there, which is genuinely personal. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else touches it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

This policy covers TripTraverse wherever you use it: the web app at triptraverse.app, the TripTraverse mobile app, and this website.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

    Who we are

TripTraverse LLC, 2014 N Saginaw Rd #1010, Midland, MI 48640, United States. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@gotriptraverse.com.

    What we collect

    • Account information: your email address, and any name or preferences you choose to add. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us.
    • Trip content: destinations, stays, activities, routes, travelers, tasks, notes and costs you enter or import.
    • Documents you upload: booking confirmations, tickets and similar files, along with the details extracted from them.
    • Booking emails you forward: when you forward a confirmation to your TripTraverse address, we process that message to create trip items.
    • Travel Journal entries and photos you add.
    • Billing information: handled by Stripe. We receive a customer reference and the status of your Plus plan. We never receive or store your card number.
    • Usage data: which features and screens you use in the web app and the mobile app, and error diagnostics, linked to your account. We use it to keep the service working, to apply plan limits and to improve the product.
    • Device information: in the mobile app, your device model, operating system, app version and language, sent with usage data.
    • Photos and camera: if you allow it, the mobile app opens your photo library or camera only when you choose to add a profile photo or attach a ticket, barcode or booking document. We receive only the images you pick.
    • Website analytics: which pages of our website are visited and how they're used, collected with no cookies in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and with first-party analytics cookies elsewhere. See "Analytics" below.

    How we use it

    • To provide the service: storing, organizing and displaying your trips.
    • To extract booking details from documents and emails you give us.
    • To generate itineraries, reports and AI planning suggestions you ask for.
    • To run billing and plan limits.
    • To send service messages such as alerts you've enabled and account notices.
    • To secure the service, investigate abuse and fix faults.

    Legal bases (EU/UK users)

We process your information to perform our contract with you (running the service you signed up for), on the basis of our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving the product), on your consent where we ask for it, and to meet legal obligations such as keeping financial records.

    When you share a trip

A trip is private to your account until you share it. If you invite someone to a trip, they can see what you share with them. If you create a public link, anyone who has it can open what you chose to include, without signing in. You can remove someone's access or turn a public link off at any time.

    AI processing

Several features rely on AI models provided by third parties: parsing uploaded documents and forwarded booking emails, extracting activities from links you paste, answering your planner questions, and destination suggestions.

When you use one of these features, the relevant content is sent to our AI providers solely to process that request and return a result to you. They act as our processors. Our AI providers may keep a request for a limited time, typically up to 30 days, to detect misuse, and then delete it.

System-initiated lookups such as geocoding, hotel check-in times and driving estimates are not part of these features and do not send your personal notes or costs.

AI output can be wrong. Extracted booking details and planning suggestions may be incomplete or incorrect. Always check them against your original confirmation before relying on them. TripTraverse is not a booking agent and does not guarantee availability, pricing, visa or entry requirements, or travel advisories.

    You can ask us to:

    • Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
    • Correct anything that's wrong
    • Delete your account and its contents
    • Export your trip data
    • Restrict or object to certain processing
    • Withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You can remove the mobile app's photo and camera access in your device's settings at any time.

Email privacy@gotriptraverse.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK and you're unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

    Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself at any time. In the app or on the web, open Settings, then Data & privacy, and delete your account there. If you can't sign in, email privacy@gotriptraverse.com from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you. Your account and trip data are deleted at once, encrypted backups are purged within 90 days, and billing records are kept for 7 years by our payment processor, as the law requires. Deleting your account also ends any Plus plan at once.

    Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to what's needed to operate the service, and payment card data never reaches our systems. No service can promise perfect security, but we take this seriously and will notify you and the relevant authorities if a breach affects your information.

    Children

TripTraverse isn't intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

    Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how our website is used: which pages are visited, what gets clicked, and how people move through the site. This may include session replays of how a page is used (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement); anything you type is masked and never recorded.

We also use Google Analytics to measure overall site traffic. Outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it sets first-party cookies, which let it count visitors and recognize a returning visit; we use that only to measure traffic, never for advertising. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland every consent setting stays off and we never ask you to turn one on, so it sets no cookies there and Google receives only limited, cookieless signals that it reports to us as estimated aggregates. Advertising features are turned off everywhere.

On this website, PostHog runs without cookies for everyone, and Google Analytics runs without cookies in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. Where nothing is stored on your device, each visit is counted as a new anonymous visitor. We honor your browser's Do Not Track setting. Analytics data is never used for advertising and is not shared for any purpose beyond understanding and improving TripTraverse.

    Cookies

We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, plus, outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, first-party Google Analytics cookies on this website used to measure site traffic (see "Analytics" above). In the web app, PostHog also keeps an analytics identifier in a cookie and local storage, so your usage can be linked to your account. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

    Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where the change significantly affects you, tell you by email or in the app.
